April Christmas Block of the Month
This class is for beginners, but anyone is welcome to join us to make this Christmas sampler.
Begins Jan. 22, 2025 and goes through December 2025 to finish a Christmas themed quilt.
Meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 10 am to 12:30 pm.
April Class meets April 16, 2025
This month’s featured block combines an Appliqué Saint Nicholas centerpiece framed by Appliquéd Angels, finished with an Attic Window border, sashing, and a cornerstone.
In this class, you will learn two forms of machine appliqué, along with a demonstration of how to hand-stitch a blanket stitch for added detail. You’ll also master sewing a Y-seam to create the Attic Window effect and learn how to assemble sashing with a cornerstone to complete the block.

Supplies:
Saint Nicholas Fabric
12" background square
8" squares of white, black, red, and fabric for his bag
Two strips, 2" x 14", for Attic Window
¼ yard of Wonder Under, Steam-A-Seam, or lightweight fusible web of choice
1/3 yard of lightweight fusible interfacing
Thread to match fabrics
Teflon pressing sheet (if available)
General sewing supplies and rotary cutter
Angels Fabric
Four light background squares, 6 ½" each
Four different 6" squares for hearts
6" square of pink for head
Four sashing strips, 1 ½" x 6 ½"
1 ½" square for cornerstone
Thread to match fabrics

| Skill Details: | This Christmas Sampler is beginner friendly, but all skill levels are encouraged to join us |
| Requirements: | You will need a sewing machine in good working order, good quality thread, a rotary cutter with a new blade and cutting mat, although the classroom has plenty of mats to use. Fabric scissors, thread snippers. Seam ripper, marking tools, straight pins or clips, and any other tool you like to use when sewing. |
